South Korean judoka Kim Jae-bum has won gold in the men's under 81 kilogram competition at the Incheon Asian Games.
In the final match held at the Dowon Gymnasium on Sunday, the South Korean Olympic champion defeated Lebanese Nacif Elias by a shido. Keita Nagashima of Japan and Nyamsuren Dagvasuren of Mongolia both shared bronze in the weight class.
Earlier in the day in the female competition, South Korea’s Joung Da-woon won gold in the 63 kilogram event to bring home the nation’s first Judo gold medal in the Incheon Asiad. Joung defeated China’s Yang Junxia by a yuko about two and a half minutes into the sudden-death golden score period. Marian Urdabayeva from Kazakhstan and Kana Abe from Japan won bronze medals.
South Korea's Kim Seong-yeon brought home the third judo gold medal of the day, winning her first Asiad title. Kim beat Chizuru Arai of Japan by a waza-ari in the women's 70 kilogram final.
