S. Korea Baseball Team Beats China 7-2, Advances to Final

South Korea’s baseball beat China Saturday night, advancing to Sunday’s final against Chinese Taipei at the Incheon Asian Games. 

Park Byung-ho smacked a three-run homer in the sixth inning Saturday, giving Korea a 7-2 win in the semifinal game against China. 

During the game, Lee Tae-yang came to the mound in the fourth inning with the score tied at 2-2 . Lee shut out four innings as South Korea went on to score four more runs on 12 hits.

Chinese Taipei defeated Japan 10-4 earlier Saturday as it seeks to win an Asiad for the first time in eight years. 

Managed by Ryu Joong-il, the South Korean baseball team will try to bring home the country’s fourth Asiad gold medal in baseball since the sport became an official event at the Asian Games in 1994.

Meanwhile, Japan will vie to win a bronze in against China in a game set to be held before the final on Sunday.
