South and North Korea will face in the men’s football final on Thursday in the Incheon Asian Games.
The South Korean football team led by Coach Lee Kwang-jong defeated Thailand 2-0 on Tuesday in the semifinals at the Munhak Stadium.
Lee Jong-ho scored the first goal in the 41st minute by heading in a cross by Rim Chang-woo. In the 45th, Lee Jae-sung was awarded a penalty and Jang Hyun-soo scored the winning goal.
The two Koreas will clash for a gold medal at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Munhak Stadium.
The match would be the first inter-Korean showdown for an Asiad football gold in 36 years since they tied 0-0 at the Bangkok Asian Games in 1978.
