Unification Minister to Attend Two Koreas' Football Final Thursday

South Korean Unification Minister Ryoo Kihl-jae will attend the men's inter-Korean football final at the Incheon Asian Games on Friday evening.
A Unification Ministry official said Ryoo could meet North Korea's sports minister, Kim Yong-hun, who is also slated to be at the game. If the two meet, the official said they are likely to exchange brief greetings.
When visiting the athletes' village ahead of the opening of the Incheon Asian Games last month, Ryoo greeted North Korean athletes and gave them well wishes for the games.
The final match, set to kick off at 8 p.m. Thursday, would be the first inter-Korean showdown for an Asiad football gold in 36 years since the two teams tied and shared the gold in the 1978 Bangkok Asian Games.
