South Korea’s young national football team beat Uruguay 2-0 in a friendly match ahead of the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Lee Seung-woo and Kang Ji-hun scored for the South Korean U-20 national team at the Cheongju Stadium in North Chungcheong Province on Thursday.
Team Korea will have another friendly match with Senegal in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province on Sunday, before they travel to Jeonju on Tuesday, where they will attend the opening ceremony of the U-20 World Cup on May 20th.
The second largest sporting event organized by the world football governing body will be held in six South Korean cities including Jeonju, Suwon and Cheonan until June eleventh.
A total of 24 countries will compete in the premier football competition for players under the age of 20.
