South Korean judoist Han Mi-jin has grabbed a gold medal in the 29th Summer Universiade which is under way in Taipei.
Han beat Santa Pakenyte of Lithuania in the women’s plus-78 kilogram event with a sole scarf hold at the match held in Hsinchu County Gymnasium on Sunday.
Han secured the gold after winning all five matches she competed in.
Lee Jeong-yun won the silver medal in the women’s minus-78 kilogram event after being defeated by Valeria Ferrari of Italy.
In the men’s plus-100 kilogram judo event, Ju Young-seo added a silver medal after losing to Kokoro Kageura of Japan.
