North Korea has rejected and strongly condemned the UN Security Council's new resolution over its latest nuclear test.
According to the North's official Korean Central News Agency(KCNA), the North Korean foreign ministry said in a statement on Wednesday that it "categorically" rejects the UN sanctions aimed at "completely suffocating its state and people through a full-scale economic blockade."
The statement said that the adoption of the U.S.-led illegal sanctions has proved again that the North has chosen the right path and strengthened its resolve to follow this path at a faster pace without the slightest diversion.
The North then vowed to work hard to defend its sovereignty and secure peace and stability in the region by achieving a balance of power with the U.S.
