The ruling Democratic Party reinstated lawmaker Seo Young-kyo on Wednesday, bringing its total seats in parliament to 121.
Seo had resigned from the party last year after being accused of hiring her daughter and a brother to work in her parliamentary office. Another brother had been paid to be responsible for accounting at her supporters' association.
While hiring family members isn't against the law, the nepotism scandal outraged the Korean public given the chronically high level of unemployment in the country.
