The Korea Meteorological Administration forecast strong winds and high waves on the southern resort island of Jeju on Thursday afternoon due to the effects of Typhoon Talim.

The weather agency urged extra caution for facility management. A high sea warning is in place for southern waters off the island.
It said that Talim is heading towards Japan's Kyushu and is likely to have limited effects on Jeju, but called for continued caution citing possible changes in the typhoon’s course or intensity.

The agency expects 50 to 100 milliliters of rain on the island through Saturday, with some areas seeing up to 150 milliliters of rainfall.

Except for rains on Jeju Island from the afternoon, South Korea is forecast to have clear and cool weather on Thursday.
