A ruling Democratic Party lawmaker says Chinese broadcasters are plagiarizing South Korean TV programs amid an ongoing dispute over THAAD missile defense.

China banned numerous South Korean broadcast and pop culture products after South Korea deployed the U.S. provided antimissile system, which Beijing views as destabilizing to the region.

Representative Kim Sung-soo disclosed 29 confirmed cases of plagiarism by Chinese broadcasters Wednesday, citing data from the Korean Communications Commission.

Plagiarism cases have been increasing since China limited the program formats satellite broadcasters are allowed to import four years ago.
