The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development(OECD) says South Korea is leading other countries in terms of added value and jobs created by information and communications technology(ICT) sectors.

The OECD announced its Digital Economy Outlook 2017 as well as a special edition on South Korea at an international conference in Seoul Wednesday.

According to the OECD reports, South Korea’s ICT sector produces ten-point-four percent of the country's added value, and accounts for four-point-six percent of the country’s employment, three-point-three percent of its research and development, and 18 percent of its patents.

South Korea also led the OECD countries in the average Internet speed at 29 megabits per second(Mbps).
