A U.S.-based Web site tracking the North has suggested a submarine-launched ballistic missile(SLBM) test by North Korea is not imminent yet.
"38 North" Thursday cited the latest satellite imagery of the North's Sinpo South Shipyard on September 21st, saying netting present at the Sinpo-class submarine in the satellite imagery on August seventh is no longer present.
It said the absence of the netting means the work being conducted on the submarine is now complete, but admitted it has no idea of the nature of the work. It also said there are no activities suggesting forthcoming test launches at the site.
Earlier, the monitoring agency predicted the North could soon conduct an SLBM test, pointing to the presence of the netting at the submarine as a hint.
