U.S. President Donald Trump has said he will be making a "major" statement on North Korea and trade when he returns to the White House on Wednesday.

Trump, who is on a tour of Asia, made the comment on Monday ahead of a trilateral meeting with Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe and Prime Minister of Australia Malcolm Turnbull in Manila.

He said that he would make “a very complete statement as to trade, as to North Korea, as to a lot of other things.” He said "a lot of things are happening on trade" and that he will announce what happened in meetings in South Korea, China and other places.
