Supreme Court Chief Kim Meong-su has decided to set up a committee to conduct additional investigations into the alleged blacklisting of judges.

The Supreme Court said on Monday that Kim made the decision after listening to diverse opinions on who will lead further investigations and how.

The proposed committee will be chaired by a senior judge at the Seoul High Court. The Supreme Court chief delegated all authorities to form and operate the committee to the chair.

Early this year, suspicions were raised that the National Court Administration under the Park Geun-hye government drafted a blacklist of judges critical of the government. At that time, the Supreme Court investigated the allegations but concluded they were groundless.

Kim decided on Friday to probe the case again after gathering the opinions of judges since his inauguration in September,
