The International Olympic Committee(IOC) has reportedly said that North Korea can still participate in the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang despite the U.S.' decision to put it back on its state sponsors of terrorism list.

According to U.S.-based Radio Free Asia(RFA) on Thursday, the IOC said the North's Olympic participation is possible, noting that the enjoyment of the rights and freedoms set forth in the Olympic Charter shall be secured without discrimination of any kind.

The IOC stressed that the North may apply to participate according to the Olympic Charter as well as a recent UN resolution calling for a truce during the Winter Games.

The IOC also said that the North's Olympic Committee, as well as the committees of other countries, were invited to the 2018 Winter Olympics.
