North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has reportedly visited a local factory that built the tires for a transport vehicle used for the North's latest intercontinental ballistic missile test.

The North's official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Sunday that Kim inspected the Amnokgang Tire Factory which excellently accomplished its task to produce tires.

The KCNA said that Kim examined diverse tires and the newly-developed large-size tires for mobile rocket launchers during his visit to the factory in Manpo, Jagang Province.

The report said that Kim tasked in September the factory to manufacture the large-size tires for the 9-axis self-propelled launching vehicle "for the great event in November," which apparently refers to Wednesday’s launch of the Hwasong-15 ICBM ballistic missile.
