President Moon Jae-in has said the U.S. has revealed a willingness to talk to North Korea.

Presidential Spokesperson Kim Eui-kyum said Moon made the remark during a summit with Latvian President Raimonds Vejonis at the top office on Tuesday.

During their conversation, Moon asked his Latvian counterpart for support for talks between the U.S. and North Korea.

Vejonis said that the PyeongChang Winter Games has become a peace Olympics through Moon's efforts. He said it is extremely important that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's sister came as an envoy to South Korea, adding that it was North Korea's message to the world.
