South Korea has declined to comment on North Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s reported instructions to further develop inter-Korean ties during his reception for a high-level delegation returning from the South.

A senior official at the presidential office told reporters on Tuesday that the top office has nothing to say on the North's state media reports, adding the South has its own plans and course of action.

The North’s Korean Central News Agency said earlier in the day that Kim was briefed by the high-level delegation dispatched to the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

In the meeting on Monday, Kim reportedly said it's important to continue building good results by further livening up the warm climate of reconciliation and dialogue created by inter-Korean exchanges during the Olympics.

Kim then issued directions on ways to improve bilateral ties and ordered related authorities to produce follow-up measures.
