Italian short track skater Arianna Fontana has won the gold medal in the women's 500 meter event at the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

In the final at the ice rink in Gangneung on Tuesday night, the 27-year old clocked in at 42 point-635 seconds.

South Korean short track skater Choi Min-jeong was disqualified on review for a push after the crowd thought she had won the silver medal.
