President Moon Jae-in has ordered his officials to create a preparatory committee for an upcoming inter-Korean summit.

Presidential Spokesman Kim Eui-kyeom revealed Moon’s instruction during a media briefing on Friday. He said Presidential Chief of Staff Im Jong-seok will lead the committee.

Kim said the main goal of the committee is to help produce substantial inter-Korean agreements that will lead to the development of inter-Korean ties, adding the committee members will also attend working-level meetings between Seoul and Pyongyang officials to arrange the summit.
