The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index on Monday gained two-point-42 points, or point-10 percent, to close at two-thousand-457-point-49.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also rose, adding five-point-02 points or point-56 percent. It closed the day at 896-point-89. 

On the foreign exchange, the local currency weakened four-point-five won against the dollar, closing at one-thousand-74 won.
