The presidential office says there are no plans yet for a hotline conversation between the leaders of the two Koreas.

A senior presidential official told reporters on Thursday that there is no need to comment on President Moon Jae-in's security adviser Moon Chung-in's calls for the hotline talks.

During a speech at the National Assembly on Wednesday, the presidential special adviser stressed the need for the two leaders to hold the hotline conversation before the U.S.-North Korea summit, saying that the situation may become difficult without the talks.

The presidential official dismissed media speculation that North Korea's threat to reconsider its summit with the U.S. is a call for President Moon to act as a mediator ahead of the meeting.
